All the properties are near or in the village of Dores, which lies on a picturesque bay with spectacular views down the length of Loch Ness. With only a hundred inhabitants it is tranquil village, the only facilities being a tiny post office and the exceptional Dores Inn. This loch-side pub has a fine restaurant, and a small public bar with a variety of good ales.
Despite the seclusion of the location, the centre of Inverness is only a 15 minute drive away. This town has been called "The Hub of the Highlands", and this is an apt description, because its facilities serve a vast area, and a radial road system can take you north to John O' Groats, west to Skye, east to Aberdeen and Speyside (distillery country!), or south to Aviemore and the Cairngorm mountains, all within a comfortable day's drive.
